Companion in Illness:
Simple Prayers

At times a prayer during illness may be only a brief word or cry, because our minds and hearts can manage nothing more.

God can hear even a simple cry.

Lord, I believe in you.
Lord, I hope in you.
Lord, I love you.
Lord, hear me.

Lord, save me.

Lord have mercy on me.
Lord, increase my faith.
My Lord and my God.
Glory to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
Lord Jesus Christ,
Son of the living God,
have mercy on me.

Jesus, gentle and humble of heart,
make my heart like yours.

Father, into your hands
I commend my spirit.
My God, I love you above all things.
Stay with us, Lord.
Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.
Mother of Sorrows, pray for us.
Holy Mary, pray for us.
Pray for us, Holy Mother of God,
that we may be made worthy
of the promises of Christ.
My Jesus, I thank you
for having died on the Cross for me.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
assist me in my last hour.

Saints of God, come to my aid.
